The shared moments are what people remember. On a ship, a little planning turns them from chaos into highlights.

Private Events on Board

Many ships can host a private cocktail party, reception or meeting in a lounge or function room for a reunion group, subject to space and the ship’s schedule. Some events are included as group amenities; others carry a charge for drinks, food or the space. Ask your advisor to request the event when the group is set up — space on sea days is limited and goes first come, first served.

  • Sea days are best for private gatherings; port days are for exploring.
  • Ask what audio-visual equipment is available for a slideshow or speeches.
  • Confirm times in writing and re-confirm on embarkation day with the ship’s group coordinator.

Events Ashore

Some of the best reunion moments happen off the ship. A private boat for a snorkeling afternoon, a beach break with a reserved area, a group lunch at a waterfront restaurant or a cultural evening such as a Hawaiian luau can all be arranged for a group. Choose one port for the shared outing and leave the others free, so people with different energy levels and budgets can still join the main event.

  • Book group excursions early; private boats and venues have limited capacity.
  • Check accessibility for older or less mobile relatives before committing the whole group.
  • Allow plenty of margin before all-aboard time when a large group is moving together.

Keep the formal program short. Two or three planned moments over a week is plenty; the conversations in between are what most people remember.
